Inoculating Beech and Oak logs with
Lentinula edodes (shiitake) and Pleurotus ostreatus (Oyster mushroom) spawn

It was found that conditions in the donkey stable were less than ideal for cultivation due to the continuing flow of water into the space through roof and walls. The beech and oak logs were then removed to the Rack Hill research site in Gloucestershire where they were inoculataed with dowel spawn supplied by Ann Miller's Speciality Mushrooms.
